Salvation and healing are not the same. In the book called Surprised by the Healer by Linda Dillow and Dr. Juli Slattery was this statement from a woman who had struggled with her marriage because her beliefs about sex had become based on lies. She said, “I mistakenly believed my salvation and my healing were synonymous.”

Foundation in Truth

In Christian counseling, it is important to discover where a person is at in their spiritual maturity. Many that come in for counseling have misconceptions and a lack of knowledge on what believing in Jesus really means. There are foundational truths that are important for you to know and understand for your healing.

Salvation, commonly referred to as “being saved” means deliverance or redemption from sin and its consequences. What is Salvation According to the Bible?

To make it into an equation, it looks like this:  dead spirit + belief in Jesus = born again spirit

Healing with a Spirit to spirit connection
Spirit to spirit Connection

Our salvation in Jesus Christ is a gift given from God and when we accept this gift, we are born again. When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, Colossians 2:13. Being born again and having a spirit that is now alive with Christ is only the beginning of your journey for healing.

Your soul is your mind, will and emotions or temperament and your memories and everything you have learned. The soul has the potential for needing lots of healing along with our bodies and what we are doing with them. The healing begins on the inside with the Spirit to spirit connection you can now have with your Father, the Creator of the Universe and Lover of your soul.

Healing takes multiple steps and is a lifetime journey. If you are ready to take those steps towards healing, seek the Lord and get the help you need.
